You will be taken to a secure site where you will be asked for your details.
When we have received your registration details you will receive an acknowledgement; you will subsequently receive an email detailing how you can pay for your place at Conference 2011.
Please note that your place at Conference is not confirmed until we have received payment.
Can anyone attend a WASLI conference? Yes, anyone and everyone is welcome at the conference. Students, interpreters, Deaf people, teachers, supporters of the Deaf community, etc.
IMPORTANT:
Do read the information below as it will help you through the Registration process.
PASSPORT: You will be asked for your passport number (or ID if you are a South African resident), but you are only required to provide this if you are staying in the Conference hotel.This information is required by the hotel and will also speed up your check-in process on arrival. If you are issued with a new passport between registering and before arrival in Durban, please advise us of the change by email to ConfReg@wasli.org
We also ask for your first and last name as shown in your passport (or ID); in addition, you can choose the names you would like on your Conference name badge.
RESIDENTIAL STATUS: You will be asked whether you are a South African Resident, whether you come from a country that requires no visa or a country where you have to apply in advance locally for a visa. (Note that NO visas are issued on arrival in South Africa.) Check here if you need a visa or not. In certain circumstances, you may require a letter of invitation from WASLI to complete your visa application. If you need such a letter, please contact ConfReg@wasli.org
ACCOMMODATION: You will be asked whether you need hotel accommodation and, if so, whether you want
- a single room (a room on your own)
- a double room (a room for a couple sharing a king or queen size bed) or
- a twin room (for two people sharing, each having a double bed).
If you intend to share, you can give the name of someone you know is coming and would like to share with; if not, we can allocate someone to share with you. Obviously, sharing is cheaper, but see below for the packages of Registration Fees available.
All accommodation includes breakfast.
There are other hotels in the area, but we have negotiated an excellent price package that is comparable to hotels in the area, and in an area that is safe for tourists.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE DATES/TIMES: You will be asked for your arrival and departure dates so we can calculate the fee package you are purchasing. You may not yet know your actual time of arrival and departure, but the hotel standard check-in time is 14.00hrs and check-out is 11.00hrs. The conference will have its own dedicated check-in area and there will be baggage storage areas available in the hotel.

Package A: Admission to the General Membership Meeting, all conference sessions, lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments on three days, the Welcome Cocktail Reception and the Gala Dinner. (No evening meal provided on 14-15 July 2011)
Package B: 3 Nights SINGLE Accommodation including breakfast plus Package A
Package C: 3 Nights SHARED/DOUBLE/TWIN Accommodation including breakfast plus Package A
Package D: 4 Nights SINGLE Accommodation including breakfast plus Package A
Package E: 4 Nights SHARED/DOUBLE/TWIN Accommodation including breakfast plus Package A
Package F: 3 Nights SHARED Accommodation including breakfast (designed for accompanying spouse/partner who does not wish to attend conference events)
Package G: 4 Nights SHARED Accommodation including breakfast (designed for accompanying spouse/partner who does not wish to attend conference events)
Package H: Welcome Cocktail Party (Can be added to Packages A, F or G)
Package J: Gala Dinner (Can be added to Packages A, F or G)
Note: Because WASLI wants to support attendance from interpreters in developing countries, citizens of those countries which are on this list will only pay the Eligible Developing Countries price.

The price of the conference alone is less than many established sign language interpreter conferences; for example, approximately USD $350, GBP £220, CAD $350, EUR €260, as at mid-December 2010.

PAYMENT: After you have completed your online registration form, you will be sent an automatic acknowledgement. You will subsequently be emailed instructions on how to pay.
Preferred method of payment: For most people, payment will involve a foreign currency transaction. We are using a system called PaySum1 which will allow you to deposit your registration fee to a bank in your own country and in your own currency. This substantially reduces bank charges for you and WASLI. Please carefully read the instructions (which will be emailed to you) on how to make these payments. Watch for an email from noreply@paygate.co.za. PaySum1 is not available in all countries. Click here to see those countries where it is available.
Alternative methods of payment: If you are not able to use the PaySum1 option, you will be requested to transfer funds through the banking system to our South African bank account, details of which will be given to you after registering. When you initiate payment, please instruct your bank that you will be responsible for all transaction charges, for your bank and the receiving bank in South Africa. It is regretted that payment using credit card or PayPal is not possible.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you cancel before 1 April 2011, there will be a full refund less a 350.00 ZAR administration charge. If you cancel between 1 April and 30 May 2011, there will be a 50% refund, less a 500.00 ZAR administration charge. From 1 June 2011, there will be no refund. You are recommended to take out travel insurance which might allow you to recoup your costs should you have to cancel. Cancellation should be advised in writing to ConfReg@wasli.org. Substitutions are permitted at any time for an administrative charge of 500.00 ZAR; please advise ConfReg@wasli.org. Please ensure you receive an acknowledgement of a cancellation or substitution from the Conference Registrar.
