Anna Komarova (Russia)
Anna is an experienced interpreter and interpreter trainer and lives in Moscow, Russia. She has been very involved in the training of interpreters within many of the republics of the former Soviet Union.
Anna was elected as the WASLI regional representative for Transcaucasia & Central Asia at the inaugural WASLI conference in South Africa 2005. She was re-elected at the WASLI conference in Spain 2007.
“The Transcaucasia & Central Asia region covers a wide geographical area and nearly all of the countries in this region are still in the early stages of developing sign language interpreting, interpreter training and interpreter associations. My challenge is to support them all so that the profession of sign language interpreting can develop further.”
