WASLI Regional Representative for Australasia & Oceania

George Major
George (Georgina) Major is the new WASLI regional representative for Australasia & Oceania. She comes from Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand.
George works as a freelance New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) interpreter. She also is a researcher in both NZSL sociolinguistics and in medical discourse analysis.
She currently serves on the national committee of SLIANZ (Sign Language Interpreter Association of New Zealand)
“This is a new role for me so I still have lots to learn. However I’m very much looking forward to working with my colleagues in the Australasia & Oceania region, and also working with and learning from the wonderful people on the WASLI board.”
