The WASLI Board
WASLI President

Liz Scott Gibson
“I am honoured to have been re-elected as President of WASLI.
Over the years I have worked as an interpreter, interpreter trainer, examiner and consultant in many countries around the world, and have long been committed to the spirit of international co-operation, having learned much from interpreting colleagues, both on a personal level and in my former role as President of the European Forum of Sign Language Interpreters (‘efsli’)
I believe that WASLI is an important catalyst for change – it will help us to share good practice, exchange experiences, and provide information and support. The issues and concerns which we face transcend national boundaries.
I am keen to see close co-operation with national associations of deaf people and the World Federation of the Deaf and believe that by working together in partnership we can develop high quality interpreting provision throughout the world.
WASLI has an excellent Executive Board, and we will bring energy, enthusiasm, commitment and determination to the work we have to do. We all have much to learn from each other and I look forward to the year to come.”
